The shrub rose Rosa mundi is a mutation of the mythical Provins rose (Rosa gallica officinalis). It retained from its parent all its of resistance and fragrance qualities. It is not uncommon to come across this rose in the gardens of English castles, where it benefit from a great notoriety. The honey scented flowers of Rosa mundi can be used in cooking and for distillation.
